Wine
Eldridge Estate MV6 Pinot Noir is made from a small patch of MV6 Pinot Noir grown in the estate vineyard at Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula.
The fruit – just three rows of vines – flourishes 225 metres above sea level on red clay volcanic loam soils on a north facing slope.
The bunches are destemmed to whole berries. After cold soaking the grapes are wild fermented for 10 days. A post-fermentation soak for three days follows.
The juice is pressed in an airbag press and sees malolactic fermentation. The wine matures in new and seasoned French oak barrels.
Deep red, Eldridge Estate MV6 Pinot Noir has power and grace, with dark fruit flavours and subtle oak spices. Cellaring potential is seven years.
